To gear up for our Summit21 Conference this year in Atlanta, 21Ninety has scored exclusive interviews with some of this year's participants.

Take it from Kyla Brown, creator of Underthing, its time to get sexy for yourself, sis!

Read 21Ninety's exclusive interview below:

21N: Can you give us a little of your background? What inspired you to create Underthing products? What was the vision behind the name?

KB: I’m a Black woman who has, like many of us, experienced traumas. Many of these traumas stemmed from my relationships with men I loved that have affected my relationship with myself, or lack thereof. I was inspired to begin Underthing in 2017 to create a space and brand for underrepresented women who are on their journeys to sexual wellness and self-love.

Underthing is lingerie for all of your self-care moments. The act of wearing lingerie allows us to reclaim our time, sexual energy, and love for ourselves. The key to Underthing lingerie is that our babes wear their lingerie for themselves. Whether that be while she’s home alone, out on the town with her girls, or getting intimate with somebody’s son – it’s for her enjoyment!

21N: How long have you been creating these health and wellness products?

KB: I began Underthing in November 2017, so we’ve been providing women across the globe with affordable lingerie for about a year and a half. The next step is vibrators, dildos, and other sex toys to help our babes enjoy their me time even more!

21N: Which ones were the most fun to create? Any customer favorites?

KB: Our customer favorites are the Goddess Set and the Siren Bodysuit; they compliment all sorts of body types. That’s why we’re going to have these best sellers at Chateau21 for the 21Ninety community to enjoy!

21N: What do you think makes your business and platform unique over others like it?

KB: Underthing is not just focused on looking sexy — our value lies in unlearning and working through trauma as it relates to sexual experiences. Underthing encourages women to take time to heal and embrace their sensuality. We also have amazing in-person events for women from sound bath meditation sessions to sensual dance workshops! If you’re in the NYC area, please join us. If you’re outside of NYC, let us know if you’d like us to come through and bring an event to you.

21N: What do you hope to gain from Summit21 this year?

KB: I’m honestly so excited to meet the other girl bosses who attend Summit21. I get so much life from Black Girl Magic and women who hustle hard. Of course, there are big names that I’m excited to hear from like Alex Wolf and Auntie Maxine! But I have to be honest. I’m excited to meet the women sitting in the audience with me. I love connecting and forming a community with other Black women.

21N: Is there anything you wish to teach and inform the Summit21 audience about?

KB: I want to encourage everyone here to remember that we’re all magic! Take the time to meet everyone and collaborate in the future — that’s how all the best initiatives begin!
