Did Beyoncé Snub Lizzo?

Earlier this month, fans speculated that Mrs. Carter snubbed Lizzo. The singer omitted Lizzo’s name during the same song during her concert in Boston.

The Jasmine Brand posted a video to their Instagram showing the “THIQUE” singer skip over Lizzo’s name. Instead the singer said Erykah Badu’s name multiple times. However, Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, quickly came to her oldest daughter’s defense.

“She also didn’t say her own sister’s name,” Tina Knowles commented. “Yal should really stop.”

The Badu mention also caught some people’s attention. Around that same time, Badu insinuated that Beyoncé was copying her style with her onstage costumes.

Lawsuit Against Lizzo

Lizzo is currently being sued by three former tour dancers for sexual harassment and hostile work environment. Since then multiple women have come forward to share their not-so pleasant experiences with the singer.

In response to the fallout from the suit, the body-positive singer released a statement, as a series of Instagram photos, denying the allegations and pushing back against the dancer’s claims.

“These last few days have been gut-wrenchingly difficult and overwhelmingly disappointing,” the Grammy-winning performer wrote. “My work ethic, morals, and respectfulness have been questioned. My character has been criticized. Usually I chose not to respond to false allegations but these are as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous to not be addressed.”

“The sensationalized stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted they were told their behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional.”
