Every year, it seems as if Halloween just sneaks up out of nowhere. The summer heat made it feel as if fall was so far away. Suddenly, you’re decorating your home with pumpkins and scrambling to find the perfect costume. Things can get especially complicated when you’re going out with the girls and want to debut a fly matching group look.

If you’re over the usual PowerPuff Girls trope and want some unique group Halloween costumes for this spooky season, check out these fun ideas.

Cheetah Girls

Providing both inner child healing and an opportunity to rock cheetah print, there’s nothing better than a Cheetah Girls group costume. Choose your favorite cheetah sister and replicate any look from all three movies, from their iconic jumpsuits to their Barcelona performance looks. Just make sure you practice your vocals before hitting the streets– you never know when the night calls for a Cheetah Girls performance.

Barbies

Barbie had an incredible year following the success of its Greta Gerwig-directed feature film. The fun thing about dressing up as Barbie is that there are endless possibilities for everyone in the group, from Astronaut Barbie to Veterinarian Barbie. You can even take a note from Issa Rae and dress up as President Barbie! Bringing some Barbie vibes to Halloween season can also serve as a reminder that you’re never too grown up to dream.

Emotions from “Inside Out 2”

With “Inside Out 2” being one of the highest-grossing movies of 2024, all of the emotions from the film would make for the perfect group look. Whether you choose to go as Disgust, Sadness, Joy or Anxiety, play around with face makeup and fun hairstyles. And if you run out of characters, feel free to get creative and make up your own, from Sleepy to Bossy.

The Spice Girls

The Spice Girls are one of the most iconic girl groups of the ‘90s. Their fashion pushed boundaries and celebrated individualism. From countless stage looks and music videos to choose from, recreate your favorite Spice Girl with your girls this Halloween. And remember, there’s more than enough looks for multiple Mel B’s.

Athletes

You might not have actually made it into the WNBA or had a tennis girl summer, but there’s no shame in pretending. If you and your girls find nothing spookier than sweating for leisure, team uniforms are objectively cute. Have everyone in the group pick their favorite sport and hit the streets as their favorite athletes.

Beyoncé Eras

Regardless of the time, Beyoncé’s eras have so much to offer. You can go all the way back to the “Lemonade” days and rock a long yellow gown with a baseball bat or stay in the present and embrace the Western style. Choose your favorite time in Beyoncé’s musical history and channel your inner Queen Bey.

Bridgerton

This costume may require a bit more effort, but it would surely be worth it. From Lady Danbury to Queen Charlotte, travel through time and make Regency spooky again. Want to go the extra mile? Why not try sporting a posh British accent for the entire night? It will only make the costume all the more authentic, plus add a layer of fun to the night.

“Sex in the City” Characters

Lately, it seems as if every girl in their late 20s to mid-30s is rewatching “Sex in the City.” Finding bits of themselves in Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte, the idea of recreating the looks for Halloween is perfect. Their high fashion is second to none, and you can bring New York City to you no matter where you’re trick or treating.

TLC

When it comes to group Halloween costumes, this one could never be overplayed. There are so many iconic music videos in the TLC canon. From their silk pajamas in the “Creep” video to their custom matching red carpet looks, any excuse is a good excuse to cosplay as them. Their hair was also a major accessory, so feel free to get experimental.
