We all know Megan thee Stallion for her impeccable rap skills and incredible flow. Over the past few years, Megan has proved that she’s not going anywhere, collaborating with Beyoncé, having cameos in She-Hulk and A24’s first musical, promoting Planet Fitness and more. Just recently, Megan has added even more accolades to her list as she has now signed a distribution deal with Warner Music as an independent artist, still owning her masters and publishing.
We know all about Megan, her talent and rewards, but what about her love life? We’re not exactly sure if Megan has a new boo in her life, but here’s a breakdown of Megan’s relationship timeline.
Who is Megan Thee Stallion?
Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, professionally known as Megan Thee Stallion, is a 28-year-old Texas-born and Houston-raised rapper. First known for her freestyling videos that started to gain a lot of attention on social media, Megan first signed with 1501 Certified Entertainment. Since then, she collaborated with popular artists like Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj and Cardi B on hit songs, “Savage Remix,” “Hot Girl Summer” and “WAP.” Megan blew up and became popular after the release of her album, Tina Snow, in 2018. Her most recent album, Traumazine, was released in 2022.
Her Most Recent Relationship and New Boyfriend
Megan Thee Stallion’s most recent relationship was with Pardison Fontaine, rapper and songwriter. The two met and started working together in April 2020 after Megan released the “Savage” remix featuring Beyoncé. They confirmed their relationship in 2021 on Instagram Live. The couple would regularly post each other on social media, often showing PDA, dates, funny moments and more. They made their first red carpet appearance together in May 2021 at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. The couple reached their two-year anniversary in October 2022. While we don’t know exactly when they broke up, we do know their relationship ultimately ended in 2023. There are speculations that Pardi cheated on Megan, he however denies these claims. This was in December of 2023.
In May 2023, Meg was seen with a new man and rumored boyfriend, Romelu Lukaku, a Belgian soccer player. They were spotted together at his teammate’s wedding in Lake Como, Italy. There have not been any updates since then.
Controversy In Her Career
Her two most recent singles, “Cobra” and “Hiss” have caused quite some controversy between her and ex-boyfriend, Pardi Fontaine and rapper, Nick Minaj. In late 2023, after “Cobra” was released, fans started speculating that Pardi cheated on Megan because of a few lines in her song. While these lines weren’t directed at anyone specifically, fans speculated it was him since he was her most recent relationship. Pardi ultimately responded with a song, confirming the theories that he did cheat on her.
“Hiss” was released in January 2024. There was some controversy behind this over a line Megan used in her song about Megan’s Law, a law that requires sex offenders to list themselves on the registry, which is public. Rapper, Nicki Minaj, thought that this line was a diss towards her and her husband, Kenneth Petty, who is a registered sex offender. Petty was convicted of attempted rape in 1995 at 16 years old. He spent four years in jail. He was again arrested in 2020 for failing to register as a sex offender in California after moving in with Minaj. He was sentenced to a year of house arrest, three years probation and a $55,000 fine in 2022.
While no one was name-dropped in the song both Nicki and her fans, aka the Barbz, assumed the line was about Minaj. Nicki Minaj then responded to Megan with her diss track, Big Foot. While Minaj denies that the song is a diss track, Megan is name-dropped multiple times throughout the song.
Tory Lanez Shooting and Trial
In August 2020, Tory Lanez shot Megan thee Stallion in her foot following an altercation between the two and their friend, Kelsey Nicole. They were leaving Kylie Jenner’s house when the altercation happened. Lanez was arrested and charged with illegally carrying a firearm as a non-U.S. citizen. The trial began in December 2022, where he was convicted and ultimately found guilty. Lanez and his team tried to defame Megan on social media and at one point he even blamed Kelsey for the shooting, however, he was sentenced to ten years in prison. His motion for bond was denied.
Her Personal Life
Because Megan’s dating life has been public over the years, the rapper is reportedly dialing down moving forward. In an Instagram Live, Megan discussed how her personal life has been shared with the public too much. She’s claiming to turn a new leaf and says she’s becoming stingy with her sex life.
Aside from her dating life, Megan has expressed interest in her hobbies like anime and working out. She often shares what she’s watching and her workout routines. She’s also a college graduate, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Health Administration from Texas Southern University in 2021. Megan was also incredibly close to her family. Her mother and grandmother passed away in 2019 within the same month, and she often credits her mother as her biggest inspiration.
