The Fenty empire is growing, sis! One month after Rihanna confirmed her new fashion label — and as if our bank accounts weren't already side-eyeing our obsession for Fenty Beauty — we may now all be blessed with a Fenty Skincare line.
According to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Page Six reports, "Fenty Skin" was officially listed as a trademark as of March 25, 2019. The rumor of a Fenty skincare line first emerged on the scene in 2017 when a fan discovered products registered under "House of Fenty." But besides Fenty's best-selling Body Lava collection, no other skin-related products have been revealed.
The trademark application was just approved and now, as Page Six reports, will be "assigned to an examining attorney which could take up to three months." So although there is not an official date (yet) for when Rihanna will launch her skincare line, we can expect for the label to offer "medicated and non-medicated skincare, soap, body care and personal care products (excluding color cosmetics, perfume and other fragrance-only products), and related accessories such as kits, tools and applicators."
Despite the beauty industry's growing initiative for inclusivity and diversity, the skincare industry continues to lag behind in its efforts. As it stands, most skincare labels create products that specifically cater to lighter skin tones. But if there's anyone who can enter an industry to shake things up, it's Rihanna with a Fenty Skincare line. Let's remember the impact Fenty's extensive foundation shades made, inspiring other beauty labels to follow suit surrounding diversity. We're here for it, Rih! Keep shaking the table.
