It’s been a year since I purchased several products from Beyoncé’s haircare line, Cécred. The superstar’s latest business venture entered an already competitive industry, where Ulta and Sephora shelves are stocked with Black hair-focused products. Not to mention, many fellow celebrities have launched their own haircare brands. So, how does Cécred stack up?

After a year of using Beyoncé’s luxury haircare line, I’ve found some clear favorites. At the same time, there are a few products I wouldn’t rush to add to my cart again.

Cécred Products I’d Purchase Again

Beyoncé’s Cécred collection debuted in February 2024 after months of anticipation and hype. While some felt the products were too expensive, their pricing aligns with other luxury haircare brands.

I tested five products on my hair, which was going through postpartum struggles at the time. My first impressions? The products smelled amazing, offered great moisture and detangling, but, as an entire system, were a bit time-consuming to use. Now, after nearly a year, I can confidently say which Cécred products are worth the repurchase.

Moisture Sealing Lotion

If I could only repurchase one product from Cécred, it would be the Moisture Sealing Lotion.

When deciding whether a product is worth buying again, I like to compare it to similar items on the market. I own several hair lotions, and Cécred’s formula is a standout. It has the perfect consistency, a fantastic scent, and noticeably softens my hair while keeping styles fresh for days. This one is a must-buy.

Moisturizing Deep Conditioner

Coming in at number two on my list is the Moisturizing Deep Conditioner.

This product leaves my hair soft, manageable, and well-conditioned. While it doesn’t necessarily outshine competitors in the deep conditioner category, it performs well enough to justify a repurchase. Considering its effectiveness and price point, I can see myself adding it to my cart again.

Cécred Products I’d Skip

While all Cécred products feel high quality, there are a couple I wouldn’t repurchase.

Rice and Rose Protein Ritual

Even in my initial review, I wasn’t completely sold on this treatment.

The multi-step process requires you to mix the rice water rinse, let it sit for five minutes, rinse, and then apply a silk rinse. While it’s not the most time-consuming treatment, it adds extra steps to an already lengthy wash day.

Plus, I didn’t notice a dramatic difference in my hair. Since my initial test, I haven’t been motivated to use it again—and truthfully, the Rice and Rose Protein Ritual is still sitting in my bathroom, waiting to be mixed and applied.

Final Thoughts

After a year of using Cécred, I can confidently say there are some gems in the lineup. The Moisture Sealing Lotion and Deep Conditioner deliver moisture, softness, and longevity—making them worth the investment. However, some products, like the Protein Ritual, require too much effort for minimal results.

Will I continue using Cécred? Yes—but selectively. Beyoncé’s foray into haircare is impressive, but like any brand, some products shine while others fall flat.
