King James has reportedly made it to billionaire status. 4-time NBA champion, LeBron James, is making history on and off the courts. According to a previous report from our sister site, AfroTech, James became the second-highest paid athlete in the world with total earnings of $121.1 million. Just one year later, he’s the first active NBA billionaire, according to Forbes.

The news isn’t surprising to fans who have followed James throughout his basketball career. The superstar athlete has always been about his money. Aside from his NBA earnings, he has his hand in many business dealings. For example, he joined business tycoon, Maverick Carter, to create SpringHill Company, a video production company that produces entertainment featured on major networks including ABC, ESPN, and CBS. The company alone earned him a whopping $300 million.

He also has equity in the companies he partners with, including popular brands Lyft and Tonal. In addition, his partnership with the popular pizza franchise Blaze Pizza earned him $30 million.

He has some equity in Fenway Sports Group which owns the Boston Red Sox as well. And he owns multiple properties across the country, which definitely add to the bag.

LeBron credits his success, however, to his wife, Savannah James. In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, he gushes over her. “You wouldn’t be talking to me right now if it weren’t for her.” He says. But this isn’t the first time he’s spotlighted his wife. He regularly calls her his “queen” all over social media. And anyone who follows James knows that he certainly isn’t shy about expressing his admiration for her in a series of social media posts.

LeBron and Savannah James are a 2-for-1 package deal. They always have been, and if it’s up to King James, they always will be. But Savannah is more than just the wife to a famous athlete. She Actually Was Shooting With LeBron in the Gym

Everyone knows that LeBron James takes his basketball career very seriously, evidenced by his newfound billionaire status. But Savannah James has been a key player in his life who contributed to his success. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he talks about the role she played in his career, from its start to the present day. He refers to a line from the song Stay Schemin’, in which Drake raps about his thoughts concerning Vanessa Bryant, who was to receive a hefty sum of money following her divorce from the late NBA legend, Kobe Bryant. The divorce was later called off.

“We have been down since high school. I listen to a lot of rap music, and a good friend of mine said, ‘You wasn’t with me shooting in the gym. But in all actuality, Savannah was with me shooting in the gym when I [had] absolutely nothing.”

He clarifies that even though it wasn’t a dig at the late athlete and his wife, he truly meant what he said about Savannah. “I do know that when [Drake] said it, it was about Kobe Bryant, but Kobe Bryant wasn’t even in my thoughts. [Savannah] was down when I was at my high school, no cameras, no lights. And she was there with me. You wouldn’t be talking to me right now if it weren’t for her.

She Wasn’t Interested in LeBron, at First

The lovebirds met when they were just teenagers in high school. In 2017, Savannah James sat down for an interview with Cleveland Magazine, where she shared the couple’s origin story.

She says that when a mutual friend told her that LeBron was interested in her and wanted her number, she immediately declined. “I’m like, ‘Um, nope. I’ll take his number,’ ” she laughs.

Later, she admits to calling him out of boredom. “One day, I’m sitting around — I was probably bored or something — and I’m like, ‘Oh, I forgot! I have this number for this guy that I can call. He seemed interested, so let’s see.’ ” Her decision to make a move would change their lives forever.

She’s A Private Person

Fans know that King James is far from shy when it comes to being in the spotlight, but as for Savannah, she prefers to stay out of it. Even though she’s active on social media, many of her posts center her husband and their three children.

She admits to being somewhat reserved when in the public eye and often becomes nervous before a big event or interview. She tells the Cleveland Magazine, “When you want me to be on a TV show or walk the red carpet or something, I definitely get a little bit clammy. That’s a bit out of my comfort zone.”

Even though Savannah James is recognized for being the wife of a superstar athlete, she has her own lane, too. Throughout the years, Savannah has had her hand in multiple businesses. In an interview with Vogue, LeBron admits that Savannah is “the boss of the household,” but her family isn’t the only ones who call her boss lady.

In 2010, she partnered with American Signature to create a furniture line called Home Court. And in 2013, she opened a Miami juice bar called The Juice Spot, which she eventually closed due to her family’s hectic travel schedule. She would later return to the industry in 2018 as a founding partner of K+ Organics, a children-friendly sports drink line.

While James may be the breadwinner in the family, Savannah brings home the bacon too. As of 2022, she has an estimated total net worth of $50 million.

Savannah James is a philanthropist through and through. She is very vocal about giving back to the community. And staying true to her roots is undoubtedly what keeps her humble.

She plays an important role in helping to manage The LeBron James Family Foundation. The organization focuses on providing educational tools and resources to the youth in her hometown of Akron, Ohio.

In 2016, she launched a mentorship program called Women of Our Future. The program offers academic support and encouragement to high school girls local to the city of Akron. In addition, her “I PROMise Makeover” is a yearly event that supports teenage girls as they head to prom.
